New to Resources and Survey

Post by Zeth » Sun Mar 23, 2008 9:37 am

Question about Survey. Say I am on Dantooine and survey for Chemicals. Will all available chemicals for Dantooine come up in the survey tool (in the list/menu on right side)? Or is it a chance that other chemicals pop up if I'm at a different location on the planet?

Reason I ask is that the site lists a chemical as available on Dantooine that I don't see in my Survey tool. Should I then tag that resource as unavailable?

Another question. If I find the resource Faza on Dantooine, if Faza exists on Tatooine - will the stats always be the same? Or is it a chance that they can have different stats?

Thanks :)

The survey tool will list the same resources no matter what part of the planet you're on

Yes

Stats will always be the same for the same resource name. Otherwise, major parts of this site had to be rebuilt

Thanks :)
These are my guesses, I haven't played since November 2005 so they might not be up to date

When adding resources to the site, is there an easier way than alt-tab'ing between SWG and the site?

Also, what is the "Mark as completed" link for? I haven't dared clicking it. hehe.

I have created a shortcut at my desktop for the file c:\program files\starwarsgalaxies\<my_account>\notes.txt

That file is used by the in-game notepad
/note notes
The command is really /note <filename> where the file name just the name without the .txt suffix.

In game, type the details into the notepad, closing the notepad will auto-save. Out of game open the file in MSNotepad or MSWordpad.

I don't think it is implemented yet, but I am uncertain. However, the idea is that when you are sure you have "completed" a planet, that is marked everything as depleted or available appropriately, then you can mark the planet as completed. If you have just added a few resources but have not verified that SWGCraft is in synch with the status at that planet, you don't touch the feature.

Thanks :)

I also found the information about adding resources using text

Code: Select all

swgcraft_start
name,type,stat1,stat2,etc
swgcraft_end
And that worked fine. I assume that the resource stats always are listed in the same order?

In the exact order they are read in game.

If you are using ISDroids you may be interested in having a look at SWGAide, links in my signature.

Not using any droids yet, but DL'ed SWGAide as soon as I found out about it :) Haven't used it much yet, but it seems nice.

It is. I've used it a few times in the past and it seems to be working fine.

New question..
Say I survey for Mineral on Dantooine. I check what is listed on my survey tool, and compare it to the site. The site lists a Known Radioactive that is not on my survey tool. However, the site lists is as being on several planets. Can I know for sure that is unavailable on those other planets, when it is gone on Dantooine?
