Which Stat Is Most Important? [ Purity or Mutagen ]
As a munitions trader, there are a few components that I can craft that are only useful to other traders. These particular items carry 2 stats that can be experimented to increase effectiveness.
There are a handful of items that carry these stats:
Enzyme Purity
Mutagen Potential
My question is, which one of these stats is most important? Or is it better to try and get both attributes to a high percentage?
Thanks for your advice!

Re: Which Stat Is Most Important?
These are parts for Beast Masters. BMs are usually looking for parts experimented to 100% for Purity (capped). Those who are trying to mutate a pet also want 100% Purity, but they also want Mutagen Potential to be as high as possible. That would require you to have 13 points (from a Crafting Suit) and get an "amazing success" on 8 points of the Purity line and another "amazing" on 4 points of the Mutagen line (the remaining point would have been spent to get Purity to 100% and can be a "great" or "amazing")
Re: Which Stat Is Most Important?
Ok, so you are saying that in most cases, Purity would be the important stat, with Mutagen being secondary?
Would there ever be a case where someone would prefer Mutagen over Purity?
Thanks again for the advice!

Re: Which Stat Is Most Important?
Im not a BM, Ive only made stuff at the request of BMs, and so far everyone has wanted Purity first and Mutagen second. Maybe some posters who are BMs can weigh in here?
Re: Which Stat Is Most Important?
The regular crafting of a pet do not care about mutagen factor.
It's only when you try to get mutations that mutagen is taken in account.
As a Munition trader you have to be a Weaponsmith to get the maximum of experimentation points.
Also the only final product that you can craft is Enzyme Extractor and you will need components from Domestic and Engineer traders.
You can craft some components usable by other crafters for Hardware and for Re-processor consumable (Capsule), see notes at end.
My short BM crafter experience learn me that:
. Hardware is a good product to sell when you are at the top, even here I found the selling prices are relatively low.
. Consumables cost tons on resources but are the best to sell imho.
. When you extract hydrolases of krayt dragons you generally have enough hydrolases to craft a 60 points pet (one Extractor having around 30 charges)
. When your Beast Master refines those 9 hydrolases he/she consumes Tray x9 / Canister x18 / Capsule x3
. When you plan a regular 60 points pet a "Purity" extractor is ideal.
. With a 13 points WS and good resources if you max Purity with a 8 points amazing success, 4 points are enough to get a positive (close to zero) Mutagen.
That are a part of my notes (mainly from SWGPets) if this can help you :
Bolded: final product
D: Trader/Domestic/Tailor
E: Trader/Engineer/Droid
M: Trader/Munitions/Weaponsmith
S: Trader/Structure/Architect
Hardware
Enzyme Centrifuge (S) + Enzyme Centrifuge Motor (E) + Enzyme Centrifuge Burst Piston (M)
Element Processor (S) + Element Processing Control Unit (M) + Element Processor Plasma Array (M)
Enzyme Re-Processor (S)
Incubator Unit (S) + Advanced Control Unit x2 (E) + Advanced Micro Sensor Suite x2 (E)
Consumable
Enzyme Extractor (M) + Enzyme Extraction Canister (D) + Enzyme Extraction Control (E)
Enzyme Centrifuge Separation Tray (S) + Enzyme Centrifuge Separation Filter (D) + Enzyme Centrifuge Separation Mixture (D)
Element Processing Canister (S) + Element Processing System Fuse (E) + Element Process Filter (D)
Enzyme Re-Processor Capsule (S) + Enzyme Re-processor Coolant (M) + Enzyme Re-processor Filter (D)

Re: Which Stat Is Most Important?
Moved the thread to BM then it is easier to find in the future for those discussing BM issues
Much information here is good, too good to loose in the general forum.

Thanks Paria for the valuable information!
I plan to start crafting these items for the community, but couldn't get any info 'in-game'.
Thanks a ton!!

Re: Which Stat Is Most Important? [ Purity or Mutagen ]
Could anyone tell me the Purity-caps for the consumable-subcomponents please (not the 3 different consumables itself, they´re at 3.0 for purity/mutagen, right?)?
Thanks,
Sigifred
Thanks,
Sigifred

Hardware and Consummables caps can be found here: Hydrolase Refining

or use this formulaParia wrote:Hardware and Consummables caps can be found here: Hydrolase Refining
100% Experimentation = cap

Thanks for the answers
Should have opened my eyes, because I know the swgpet-site, but didn´t realise there where the caps for the consumables too

Re: Which Stat Is Most Important? [ Purity or Mutagen ]
Is there a list around with the absolute caps on sub components for BM?
For example weaponsmith have:
Tibanna Gas and melee reinforcement 3.0/1.54
Barrels and vibro units 1.5/1.16
stocks and scopes 1.0/.73
Reason I ask is I was doing Enzyme Extraction Canister on my tailor and realized I don't have a way of knowing when I reach capped or not. Or what is good enough? 0.99 purity or does it really have to be 1.0 to later get a 60pt pet?
A reasonable assumption would be that (looking at ws) Enzyme Extraction Canister cap at 1.0/.73 (Purity/Mutagen) but it would be really cool to have a definitive list of all subparts. Most guides just say "get the best consumables and stuff you need and then do this and this in the incubator".

EP is by far the most important, the top BM on Chim for exmaple uses it even when crafting mutant pets.

Re: Which Stat Is Most Important? [ Purity or Mutagen ]
Aye and I guess the way to do it when starting up a BM is to get all stuff purity capped, then when you successfully made your first 60-pointer you can dick around with mutations, that's my plan anyway...
btw the Canister can no way be capped at 1/0.73, since with "almost good enough" resources I get like 0.99/-0.1 so my guess is it's more like 1/0 that's cap.
A 60point durni can be just as cool as a rancor anyway, as it open up for so many Monty Python jokes...
"What, behind the rabbit?"
"It has small pointy teeth..."
