Thank you.

Is there anyway to do a bulk upload from the resource_manager_spawns.lua?

Oh apologies. This is a output file that a Core3 server uses to store inspawn and out of spawn resources. Here is an example of the format:

{
name = "Akrale",
type = "vegetable_tubers_rori",
classes = {
{"Organic", "organic"},
{"Flora Resources", "flora_resources"},
{"Flora Food", "flora_food"},
{"Seeds", "seeds"},
{"Vegetables", "vegetable"},
{"Tubers", "vegetable_tubers"},
{"Rori Vegetable Tubers", "vegetable_tubers_rori"},
},
attributes = {
{"res_decay_resist", 470},
{"res_flavor", 447},
{"res_potential_energy", 165},
{"res_quality", 375},
},
inSpawn = "1",
deSpawnTime = "1475638438",
zoneRestriction = "rori",
surveyToolType = 3,
containerCRC = 485919638,
},

Would you want to do a one-time upload of historical data or a recurring upload?

I would love to setup a recurring upload to automate the data-entry completely.

Sobuno must have had rl take him away from this discussion. Sobuno is the one you need to continue talking to about this. However I can tell you the answer is yes. There is a way for you to make your resource database available for us to upload to this site, both your historical data and current resources. This was successfully done with the SWGChoice server. I do not know if Sobuno has the software you would need to format your EMU file to be usable by us. However we could get you in touch with the SWGChoice dev who wrote it. I know the SWGChoice team is 100% committed to sharing any of their work with other servers.

You will want to work out with Sobuno how often you intend to run the resource dump and how often you want us to query your server for it.

Something else I can tell you (because what I can tell you is so very little), The agreed system with SWGChoice does not give out which planets the resource is spawning on. Or at least for resources able to spawn on more than one planet. The vast majority of resources do, in fact, only spawn on one planet. This allows players to still send out ISD droids and have a role in resource reporting to SWGCraft. It was important to SWGChoice that ISD droids and players still had a purpose in the process.

Looking at your example, I am curious as to what this line means

Code: Select all

deSpawnTime = "1475638438",
It can't be a duration in seconds, that is way too high a value. I do not recognize it as a time stamp. Anyone able to enlighten me?

That is not anything that is sent to us, by the way. Resources are despawned at our site when the "current resource" dump no longer lists them, or a player reports it as out of spawn, either by an ISD droid, or manually.

savacc,
Thanks for the reply. I think the ideas that the SWGChoice team have are really great. I wasn't originally going to do that but I think it would really give purpose to the ISDs and help droid engineers in the economy.

Do you have a contact for SWGChoice?

http://www.swgchoice.com/

or at the Emu forums Tiars is the dev and Esquire is the owner

They both have accounts here too, and I remember asking them their usernames, but I always contact them at SWGChoice or the Emu.

I wasn't get a hold of them so I decided to see if I could take a shot at creating output that would be helpful. Using the text input field on this post :
http://www.swgcraft.org/forums/viewtopi ... =17&t=1812 as my guide I created output that matches that format for all IN SPAWN resources. Not sure what (if anything) I should do with out of spawn historic resources.

I can have this file hosted on my server in a place where you can schedule a task to go out and grab it (I will also upload it manually to get the ball rolling).

Let me know if this is the right way to go.

I misspoke. Since it doesn't have planet information it seems I can't upload it manually using the current systems here.
