Reporting on Resources- How do I help on Tarquinas?

Post by Alloy » Tue May 06, 2008 12:21 pm

Just came back to SWG after 2.5 years. I was a DE prior to the CU...its good to be back :)

Excellent resource-finding feature you have, I am interested in contributing. Have been finding a lot of quality resources on Tarquinas, and I want to share that info.

Any chance of adding a WP-feature for resources? Finding quality stuff is only as valuable as finding High Conc. of it.

It was up for discussion not too long ago and the current general consensus is ... no.

There once was a cool tool for this, MyRes, but I remember just a few spots ever was entered in spite of the hundreds of players using the tool.

Think of a concentration as your favorite fishing spot (or mushroom/flower/whatever spot) which you hardly even tell to your friends. First thing I do is to put down my own harvies, second is to send a guild mail, finally ... eeeeh, by now the spot is crowded anyway.

Yes, it takes a while finding a sweet spot but in a good guild it is more fun.

But this is just my personal take, I am not god ;)

I can see the logic in that. I suppose I don't see as many harvies on Tarq. as I would expect.
Regardless, how exactly do I contribute to the the "Current resources" page on SWG craft? I have been surveying like mad lately, and I would like to report on resource qualities.
Thanks for the input.
Cheers,
Alloy

I wrote a similar reply the other day in >> http://www.swgcraft.co.uk/forums/viewto ... 5816#p5816 <<

Hopefully that get's you going.

Looks like I should write some HOW-TOs for the site, shouldn't I? ;)

You mean a full help system, or just help text pages?

Depends on what you understand as a full help system.

I really have no idea what kind of help we'll set up

Then I write up some small texts and post them in the developers' forum for scrutinizing of English native guys. I don't mind anybody else chiming in since I will only do this at my spare time (when not playing nor pottering with SWGAide).

To Alloy, sorry for kidnapping your thread and a huge welcome to this site :D
