how to import info from ISDs into here?

hi guys,

I've had a fairly lengthy break from crafting, but I'm getting back into it, so obviously the first hing I did was check that SWGcraft was alive and a guildie also pointed me here.

I see that there appears to be the ability to import data we get from ISDs into the database at SWGcraft.com (and here too?).

But I'm not sure how I get the info out of SWG

I tend to be in-game for half an hour or so before work most days, obviously as a crafter I want the database of resources we all use to be as accurate as possible so I'll be happy to update every day (or most days anyway - wouldn't be first thing on saturdays and I may miss some weekends totally).

Can someone post a simle step by step how to on getting the ISD data from SWG into here (and SWG)?

Thanks

The command in your in-game chatbar is /mailsave

You will find your mails at your hard disk, with the full path such as
C:\Program Files\StarWarsGalaxies\profiles\STATIONNAME\GALAXY\mail_CHARACTERS_FULL_NAME\

They are plain text so double clicking them will bring up a dialog asking what application to use, MS Notepad or MS Wordpad will do just fine.

Ooh, mailsave can take its time, especially if you have many mails. They are retrieved one by one from the game mail server, which takes a while. Once you have saved them you can delete all mails from the in-game mail folder as you have them at your hard drive.

Is there some way to edit the info to import the stats on the resources?
Is there a way to point the SWGCU program to report here instead of SWGCraft.com?
How should the /mailsave files be edited prior to uploading here?

I use ISDs pretty heavily and then pull the stats off of a resource deed. Currently it is pretty straight forward on updating to SWGCraft.com and I'm wondering if it will eventually be the same here.

Just a few questions as I would like to start helping to fill the database here.

Thanks

SWGCU does not speak directly with the SWGCraft.com database but mimics a web browser, which is why it is that slow. It should be possible to make it do the same thing with this site, with a big chunk of similar code added to it. I am not its maker but it was not hard to figure out how it works.

The other questions I leave for the experts here, I have not tested it yet. Try copy and paste from the mails when viewing them in your MS Notepad, does that work?

IMHO, at the present time you should rather add to the SWGCraft.com database. This site pulls data from that database each hour, but this site does not feed new data to SWGCraft.com. That fact, plus that the Trader community is obviously too small to possibly fill many sites' databases makes the conclusion simple, fill one database and let the others pull from that one until further notices.

That said, fill some data here for testing purposes, but then also at SWGCraft.com. That will help the most fellow Traders, wouldn't it?

I'll keep on keepin on with the swgcraft database but also load the onsey twoseies here to try and help. When I get some time I'll try and figure out the stat thing.

Thanks for the response.
