basic crafting question

the resources to build a mark V engine are

Resource List:

1. Requires 1,250 units of Steel
2. Requires 1,250 units of Radioactive
3. Requires 1,250 units of Iron
4. Requires 1,250 units of Aluminum
5. Requires 1 Mark V Engine Upgrade (Optional)


What I dont understand is number 5. I need a mark V engine to make a mark v engine?
Obviously I want to make the best possible one i can so i want to use all the options i just dont understand what i need there?

What it means is an upgrade subcomponent.

Engine Limiter:
Decrease RED
Decrease Speed

Engine Overdriver:
Increase RED
Increase Speed

Engine Overhaul:
Increase PYR
Increase Mass
Increase Speed

Engine Stabilizer:
Increase PYR
Decrease RED
Increase Mass

You craft them, look in your list, they are there.

The Overhaul and Stabalizer you get from taking expertise boxes, but if you have them, they are all in the same catagory as the engines themselves, thats is, you will find them grouped togather in your crafting tool.
