Math Dummy

Post by Rain » Wed Mar 05, 2008 3:51 pm

I've tried several different ways to come up with the number 74 as being the extraction rate in the example below but I just can't seem to figure out how that number was attained.

I tried 44 times 1.50 times 84% but that doesn't work.

What is used to get this number?

Listed BER is the base extraction rate of the harvester. The actual BER will depend on expertise, entertainer buff, and resource concentration when placed.

The formula is:

BER * (1 + expertise bonus + entertainer buff) * 1.50 * concentration

The 1.50 is a bonus to harvesting that the devs gave us when they took away the ability to have multiple admins on a harvester.

The entertainer buff is .01-.05, the expertise boost .15 or .30.

So a fully buffed trader with harvester expertise places a 44BER harvester on an 84% concentration. The actual extraction rate would be 74.

I don't understand your question. Why will you get 74 for some reason? Elaborate on your question(s), please.

The extraction formula is, as you say, but I use different numbers

ER = BER * concentration/100 * 1.5 * (100 + expertize + entertainer)/100

with "concentration" the percentage in integers 1 - 100, and expertize 15 or 30, and ent-buff 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5.

In your text I see 84%, is that the concentration? And you are using an elite harvester with BER 44 plus fill expertize and entertainer buff? That would be

ER = 44 * 84/100 * 1.5 * (100 + 30 + 5)/100 = 74.844 ~ 74

* ER = Extraction Rate per minute

I just wonder, is there anything unclear in http://www.swgcraft.co.uk/forums/viewto ... 1650#p1650? Something I can clarify?

Kindly

I was using the example Holden posted in my old thread.

Anyway the * represents multiply correct?

I guess I just don't understand how you get the end result. Like I said, I'm a math dummy at times. :oops:

Please walk me through each math function you are using to get the end number.

Ok, I followed the link in your last post and read your equations there. Now I see how you get the end result.

I am so dumb sometimes I swear. :oops:
