Getting carpal tunnel syndrom from making brick schematics..

Post by Smeeon » Mon Dec 20, 2010 7:05 am

Hey everyone,

My first post here, I've got a question I'm hoping has an answer. Let me give you some history first. I'm on my 10th or so batch of 10k walls. I set 10 factories to make 10 batches of bricks(structure modules) each, which turns into 1000 walls per factory for a total of 10,000 walls in a single run. (takes about 12 days to make). I've recently had a friend drop 10 more factories for me so I'm beginning my first run of 20k walls in one hit. My hand is dead from making structural module factory schematics. Usually I make 10 of them a day to spread out the 100 I have to make over the 10 days the bricks are in the oven but now I'm making 20 a day and its starting to drive me nuts. So this leads me to my question.

I remember back when I was grinding, I used a macro to end my crafting session, you probably all know what it is.

Code: Select all

/nextCraftingStage;
 ;
/nextCraftingStage;
 ;
/nextCraftingStage;
 ;
/createPrototype Practice No Item;
 ;
/createPrototype Practice No Item;
What I'd like to know is there a similar version that would essentially crank out individual schematics?

IE /createPrototype Schematic; or something of the like.

Let me know, I refuse to use any auto-it or script of any sort. I just want something I can slap on an F-Key.

Thanks guys, this community has answered lots of my questions before without me asking. I appreciate it.

I have never tried it, or heard of anyone doing that, but it may be possible. Try it and see. :wink:

I have been a Shipwright for many years. I have gotten very good at keeping multiple crafting tools going at once. Very few things a Shipwright makes can be made in a factory, so we have to get good at making things by hand. I dont use crafting macros because i am faster without them. I just keep my left hand on the Enter button and my right on the mouse. I know I could crank out 10 structure schematics in very little time.

20k walls a week :shock: thats an awful lot of walls. :roll:

I'm pretty used to making stuff by hand. But the repetitive nature of making 200 identical schematics puts me to sleep. Then an additional 20 wall schematics. I figured the fastest way is to stack all the "next" and "accept" buttons so I just click in one spot. Still hoping there is something else out there.

That's what the "Enter" button is for.

You can see all the commands available ingame by typing "//"
but first type /log to expand your chat log so you can see all of them.

For some reason enter isn't that reliable for me. Sometimes it jams up and does what I don't want it to. The stacking of accept buttons seems to be about as fast as I can go since I dont need to name anything nor experiment. Guess I shouldn't complain too much lol

If anyone at soe is listening this can all be fixed by making schematics cap at 10k items instead of 1k :P

OK ..I'll bite :twisted: ..since I am not a structures trader this may be a stupid question ...but what do you do with 200000 wall modules?
If it's stuck :x ...force it ...if it breaks, :shock: you needed a new one anyway :)

other than using up a hard earned 60 Million total resources? well have you SEEN how many damn walls go into a large garden? or city hall? I enjoy having my vendor completely stocked with all the different varieties of city gardens, there really is quite a few. I really only make city structures, I don't bother with harvesters much.. maybe someday but gardens keep me busy enough, as well as the various housing options.

Pfft, I wish people would buy things to make it worthwhile to run so many walls. Anyhow, have you played with /ui action defaultButton to click next for you and such? I've used macros like that to shorten my time in crafting at times. I don't think you can fully automate it but you should be able to bring it down to a very minimal amount of clicking.
