Combat toon max droid level SPLIT

Post by Nitebytes » Thu Mar 17, 2011 10:31 am

So ... when building a combat droid companion for a combat customer it's best to stack it with big armour, and not worry too much about the quality of the specials as they're restricted to lvl1 no matter what?
(So I could fill the extra space with more storage?)

With Ent's not being a COmbat toon, are their droids limited to 60, or do they get the full 90 like Traders?

Not at all, you build droids for combat toons as for anybody else. The only difference is that when a combateer calls his droid it scales down to CL 60. Or rather, it scales down to 2/3 of whatever you crafted it to, see next paragraph. If a Trader calls it it does not scale down but stays at 90.

The above assumes that the toon is CL 90, otherwise he cannot call a droid that is more than 5 levels stronger than himself. Thus you must restrain the power of a droid for the weaker toons.

The level and the armor of a droid is determined by several factors, these formulas are explained elsewhere. Who said crafting in SWG is simple? 8)

PS. One of the forum rules is to never necro old posts, generally 3 month indicates it shold be left alone to RIP. Why? Not seldom old topics contain statements/data/rumors that are incorrect; they might have been wrong from start, or new GUs have changed something, or bugs are now fixed. Other times they contain heated debates and flame wars, we rather not see them necroed and argues start over.

No harm done, just wanted to explain. DS.

Oops, forgot the Entertainer question.

A droid without combat related modules is always level 1, also for Traders. An innocent Entertainer probably want a droid full of showbiz modules, it is level 1.

I am not 100% sure about a non-combat Entertainer and level of a combat droid but I would assume it scales down to level 60 simply because the game looks at profession, not expertise, and an Entertainer could decide to become lethal at any time.
