Forum Rules

Post by Slyvampy » Sun Mar 25, 2007 12:00 am

The following is a set of rules that all users are expected to abide by. They are broken down in to two sections - minor and major.

Minor Rules

Minor rules are those rules that the admins and moderators know can often be broken without realising. That does not mean that they will be tolerated. Users breaking these rules will receive warnings and if they are continually broken by the user then a ban will be considered.
  1. Please post in the correct forum. For a start, you will be more likely to get a response if you post in the correct forum. It only makes more work for the admins and moderators if you post in the wrong place.

Please do not create mutiple similar threads in multiple forums e.g. server specific posts. Find the forum that is relevant to what you want to talk about and post it there. If you still think a post will be useful to a number of different crafting professions then please use the General Crafting forum.

Please refrain from excessive use of profanity. If you are unsure what excessive is then just avoid profanity at all times. We are aware that the odd profanity may appear during heated and emotional discussions - this will be tolerated to a certain extent.

Please do not resurrect posts that have been dead for a long time. More often than not the questions or information contained within the posts will be outdated and no longer relevant. If you want to talk about the topic of an old post then please create a new thread and link back to it if necessary. As a guideline, any thread that has not been posted in for over four weeks should be considered dead. May they rest in peace.

Please be civil and friendly to fellow users. This forum is no place for feuds, revenge or bullying.

Please do not exhibit disruptive behaviour. Going out of your way to annoy other users does not impress us.

Please do not spam the forums. Repetitive useless or irrelevant posts will be deleted and will lead to a warning.

Please do not use these forums to market a commercial product or to try and sell (real life) things to other users. The forums are for sharing, not for selling.

Please do not post anything related to SWG related third-party programs. This includes any discussion about said programs or linking to files.

Please do not discuss in-game exploits. More often than not this will lead to disruptive posts that only end up harming this community.

Please respect the admins' and moderators' decisions. Their main aim is to keep these forums a friendly and useful place for crafters to hang out. Their decisions are based on these rules. If you have a problem with a moderators decision then please contact Slyvampy, rather than airing your grievances in public.
Major rules

Major rules are rules that if broken can lead to an immediate banning. They include situations that are not tolerated in every day life or situations that could lead to legal actions against SWGCraft.co.uk.
  1. Please do not post any form of racial or religious abuse. No three strike rule on this one. Break this and you're out of here.

Please do not post any pornography related information or links. The definition of pornography differs from person to person, so this will be at the moderators discretion. If you are unsure if info or a link could be considered as pornography then do not post it. Post any form of illegal pornography and you're banned for life and your details will be passed to the authorities!

Please do not post any illegal info or links, such as warez or copyright MP3 file sharing material. While the SWGCraft Project assumes no responsibility for the posts made by users, we will never allow ourselves to be put in to a position where legal action could even be considered against us.

Please do not post details of how to perform an in-game exploit. If you want to get the devs attention then get some mates together and use the official channels.

Please keep in mind that we have both a younger and an older audience. Your actions and language may be considered the normal among your peers but this does not mean they will be by everyone.
If you have any issue with any of these rules or think they need changed then please contact anyone from the Moderation Team.
